Join Your Photo Adventures for Iceland 2017!
Iceland is defined by its rugged landscapes. To call it geographically and geologically unique doesn’t even begin to describe this wild landscape. Volcanos, glaciers, hot springs, and lava fieldsand are just the beginning. A seemingly endless collection of waterfalls and seascapes unfold around every bend in the road.
For outdoor photographers, this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime dream destination. While the country is simply too big to explore in a single week, we’ve worked hard to select the absolute highlights along the South Coast and Snaefellsnes Peninsula to make this a rewarding experience.
We’ll photograph the country’s most powerful waterfalls, vast black-sand beaches and the infamous glacier lagoon. We’ll also see less-visited locations, including the Fjardargljufur canyon and Svartifoss waterfall. The dramatic transition between the North American and European continental plates? We’ll see that too, while visiting Tingvellir and learning about the area’s rich Viking history.
Both Brendan and I have traveled and photographed Iceland, but we’re also partnering with Icelandic guide and photographer Ivan Olafsson to bring a true local’s perspective to this workshop.
Your Photo Adventures Iceland 2017 Highlights:
We’ll see some of the most powerful and photogenic waterfalls in Iceland, including Kirkjufellsfoss, Skogarfoss, Seljalandsfoss.
Jokularson Glacier Lagoon
The infamous glacier lagoon is simply stunning; however, we’ll also visit the nearby “diamond beach” that is a mix of black sand and crystal-clear icebergs.
As the most sparsely populated country in Europe, Iceland is essentially void of light pollution. That means, on clear nights, there are few better locations better for viewing the northern lights.
We’re purposefully skipping the Blue Lagoon because it’s truly an all-day destination and we want to maximize our photography opportunities, but we’ll find time for at least one hot spring swim in a more natural setting.

About Your Photo Adventures Tours
Your Photo Adventures is a partnership between professional travel photographers Brendan Van Son and Jeff Bartlett (that’s me). After we teamed up to run our Destination Morocco tour in February 2016, we knew we wanted to continue running tours together.
As a team, we both take pleasure in not only teaching photography, but also in sharing experiences with our guests. The name – Your Photo Adventures – says it all. We want to help you have an incredible adventure and help you capture your vision (and memories) with your own camera.
We’re excited to run the Iceland 2017 trip not only because it’s a country that both Brendan and I have traveled but also one we’ve been dying to revist. We both fell in love with the wild landscapes in the north Atlantic country. Now we’d like to share it with you.
